The Lyrid meteor shower peaks overnight tonight as the first shower of spring. According to Bill Cooke of NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office, you should see 15 meteors per hour. The optimal viewing area would be away from city lights with a good view of the southwest sky early in the night and almost directly overhead closer to morning.
Catonsville Chamber of Commerce hosts “Network the ‘Ville” on March 9th from 5:30-7:30 pm. Over 100 people came out for the grand opening of Catonsville’s newest grocery store, Lidl, on Wednesday morning. With some arriving as early as 4 am, the first 100 people won gift cards ranging from $5-$100. Hearing of the great prices they offer is what drew so many out to check out the newest grocery shopping option.
Baltimore County’s Restaurant Week will be held January 17 through February 1 with restaurants participating throughout the area. Each participating restaurant will have prix fixe menus ranging from $15-$35, allowing patrons to try some of their most popular dishes. Catonsville has some of its own participating so go out, have a nice meal and try out a new local restaurant!
